INA's Nepal Partner Wins First Place Award
We are delighted to annouce that INA's Nepalese health partner, Human Development and Community Services (HDCS)
has been selected by the International Project Management Association
(IPMA) as the first placed 'Gold' winner for its Public Health Program in Maternal and Child Health Promotion Project
The prestigious awards ceremony was held in Kazakhstan early in September 2017 and many organisations were reviewed and considered for their important contributions to public health across the region.
HDCS was selected from a number of finalists for their outstanding work amongst the community with pregnant women, new mothers and newborn babies. The INA supported program provides education and health care services and works to address and reduce the mortality rate amongst delivering mothers and newborn babies. It is an integrated healthcare project with a number of supporting stakeholders and it has strengthened the delivery of healthcare services at healthcare centres by training medical professionals and equipping centers.
The program also worked with community groups to mobilise and share knowledge and resources to improve the health outcomes for mothers and children while mainstreaming the adoption of family planning practices and strengthening referral mechanisms. It achieves this by overcoming traditional beliefs and practices through awareness-raising and health camps.
Congratulations to HDCS!
