Meet Sherwin and staff member Grace from Vineyard, our partner in the field in the Philippines, as well as Professor Remie from Bulacan State University and youth from the project.
Sherwin will share the impacts on children, families, community, education, health and income, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Stay at home lockdowns aren’t easy for the poor with no safety nets. Sherwin will give us live insights to these areas – their daily struggles and triumphs.
He will share both challenging and uplifting stories. Be introduced to John Kenneth, and how his mental health was improved through this project. Hear about how medicines were made available to vulnerable families through the program.
Hear about the positives – what has been done and what can be done to help in the Philippines.
Who is Sherwin?
Sherwin was born in the slums of Manila. He took it upon himself to bring up his seven siblings after his alcoholic father abandoned the family, and a year later his mother also left. As a child sponsored by an Australian family, Sherwin attributes their support as being instrumental in transforming his life.
With a degree in Science and Education, Sherwin has chosen to remain amongst his people to uplift the poor and provide hope for the many children in desperate need of life’s everyday basic rights, including food and education.
He is the CEO of the Filipino-based Christian aid and development agency, Vineyard of His Grace Ministries Inc. (Vineyard) which partners with International Needs Australia to help change the lives of Filipino children and their families. A key focus is providing assistance and support for children to be able to attend school.
