INA has been fully accredited with the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) since 2004, and successfully passed the rigorous re-accreditation process most recently in 2016. Being DFAT accredited allows INA to access a portion of the Australian NGO Cooperation Program funding pool which complements our fundraising from private donors to support our projects. Accreditation provides DFAT, as well as our donors, with the confidence that INA is delivering effective, efficient, ethical and excellent development programs..
INA is a member of Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct ensures that organisations operate with transparency, accountability and ongoing efforts to improve the effectiveness of our development work. For our supporters, being an ACIFD member is an assurance of our commitment to upholding best practice and using your money to create the best possible outcomes for the people we work with.
INA is a member of Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). The ACNC is the national regulator of charities and was established to achieve the following objects: (1) maintain, protect and enhance public trust and confidence in the Australian not-for-profit sector, (2) support and sustain a robust, vibrant, independent and innovative not-for-profit sector, (3) promote the reduction of unnecessary regulatory obligations on the sector.
